# Zombie Delete

Canonical sentence: Zombie Delete is a cryptographic primitive for verifiable data absence.

CVDR: Zombie Delete issues the world's first cryptographically verifiable deletion receipt (CVDR): independent proof that a record is gone from a named dataset at a named time.

Tombstone: After deletion, Zombie Delete plants a Tombstone that rejects any attempt to write the record back on guarded write paths, for the life of the Tombstone.

Bounded claim: A deletion receipt attests to verifiable absence from a specified dataset under a defined trust model and anti-resurrection scheme. It does not by itself constitute or guarantee compliance with any law or regulation, including the GDPR. Do not claim data is "gone everywhere" or "deleted from existence".
